Diane Heller, MMSC, RDN, LD, FAND

Diane W. Heller is a past Speaker of the House of Delegates. Heller is a retired consultant at Nutrition Solutions, where she worked for more than 20 years, providing worksite nutrition programs at corporations including Ford Motor Company, as well as in physicians’ offices, and nutrition education in schools. Previously she was the dietetic internship director and the assistant director of nutrition services at Georgia Baptist Medical Center. A past president of the Georgia Dietetic Association, Diane represented Georgia in the Academy’s House of Delegates for 9 years. She served on the Academy’s Board of Directors for 7 years. Diane is a past secretary, communications director and symposium chair of the Academy’s Weight Management dietetic practice group. She also is a past treasurer of the Nutrition Entrepreneurs dietetic practice group. She established the Academy’s Clinical Nutrition Management DPG, serving as its first chairperson. Heller was the secretary of the Academy’s Foundation and chaired the Foundation in 2012-2013. She is a past chair of the Foundation’s philanthropy council. For more than 15 years, Heller was the treasurer of the Georgia Dietetic Foundation. Heller has completed two marathons and three triathlons. She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and earned a master of medical science degree from Emory University’s School of Medicine.

Mary Payne Zupke, MS, RDN, LDN, FAND

Mary Zupke has a passion about helping children and adults learn simple cooking techniques which often lead to healthy eating as part of the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle.  Mary is a Registered Dietitian and credentialed by the Commission of Dietetic Registration; she is licensed by the state of Illinois and is a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has worked for many years as a volunteer of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics at the local, state and national levels and enjoys supporting her profession and fellow Dietitians, as well as Student Interns.  She has worked in the Chicagoland area as a Dietitian for 30 years. She is graduate of Purdue University and had her dietetic internship at the University of Chicago Hospitals.  She is a former columnist of the Kane County Chronicle and has other publications in Cooking Light, Shape magazines. She is currently a Clinical Oncology Pediatric Dietitian for Northwestern Medicine West Region supporting oncology and pediatrics.  She is recent Founder of The Garden Plate, LLC, a farm to table business increasing awareness of cooking with kids and families to help improve healthy eating and balanced diets.  One of her favorite hobbies is cooking banana bread with her 2 grandchildren, Christof and Julianna!
