In response to Fall 2021 DBC member survey, this webinar will emphasize the importance of policy and advocacy, and will provide an overview of the Academy’s legislative priorities. It will highlight the importance of advocacy from all Academy members and identify a variety of ways to do so. The presentation will also clearly link how DBC members are uniquely able to engage in advocacy to further the dietetic profession, enhance diversity within the profession as well as equitable healthcare.
The Academy’s current legislative priorities aligned with strategic focus, organizational structures, and processes that move these forward as well as resources available to members will be discussed in detail. The process of advocacy entails relationship building, with begins with nurturing relationships. Communication/storytelling is at the core of building that connection. DBC members are the communication experts. With examples/quotes from current DBC members and calls to action this webinar will motivate every attendee/listener to be an advocate for equitable nutrition and public health.
