Terri Raymond, MA, RDN, CD, FAND


Terri has worked in dietetics and business for more than 30 years. Currently she owns and operates a consulting business, employing more than 30 registered dietitians, serving healthcare and business clients in the Pacific Northwest. Previously she worked in contract food service as President for a regional corporation of 750 employees with clients in five western states. Terri has been active in DBC for more than ten years. She has served on the DBC Executive Board for several years and served as the Academy Foundation’s 2014-15 Chair.

Becki Holmes, MS, RDN
Chair Elect



Becki is Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at Red Bull North America.  Prior to joining Red Bull, Becki led the Global Regulatory and Nutrition team at Starbucks Coffee Company.  In addition to executing regulatory and scientific programs, Becki has served integral roles in the development and implementation of mandatory and voluntary policies pertaining to the food and restaurant industries including trans fat, sodium, menu labeling, and caffeine initiatives.  Becki also serves on the Board of Directors for Nutritionix, a nutrition software company.   

Ilene Smith, MS, RD

Ilene is the principal of I ON FOOD, Inc., a communications consulting firm servicing the food industry. For 15-plus years, Ilene has created communications strategies for leading food organizations. I ON FOOD’s specialties include corporate reputation, brand building, influencer support and media relations. Ilene holds a masters degree in nutrition from Columbia University and a bachelors degree in journalism from New York University.

Jackie Schulz, MS, RD, CSP, LDN


Jackie Schulz is the Nutrition Lead for KraftHeinz North America.  She received her B.S. in Dietetics from the University of California, Davis and her M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from Rush University in Chicago.
Prior roles include sales, nutrition marketing, regulatory affairs, and product development.  As a Registered Dietitian with a background in pediatric nutrition, she is passionate about effectively communicating evidence-based nutrition information to help individuals and groups improve their quality of life.

Jenny Karl, MS, RD



Jenny is VP, Marketing & Communications for the New England Dairy & Food Council, a non-profit organization supported by the dairy farmers of New England as a way to educate the public about dairy farming and dairy’s role in a healthy and sustainable future. 

What she loves most is working with and for dairy farmers, providing them with communication trainings and opportunities to connect with consumers through events, farm tours, videos and social media. 

Carol Berg Sloan, RDN, FAND

Carol Berg Sloan is health research director for the California Walnut Commission. Carol recently served two terms as a delegate to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was a member of the Academy Positions Committee and Finance and Audit Committee. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the California Dietetic Association in 2010. Carol serves as a consultant to several food and beverage companies and s a preceptor to the Individualized Self Study Program at California State University, San Bernardino. 

N. Elaine Farley-Zoucha, RD, LMNT

  Elaine is the owner and President of EZ Nutrition Consulting, PC & Associates, specializing in Food Service Systems, Geriatric Care, and Quality Management for long term care facilities.  As a national speaker on nutrition and culture change in long term care, she inspires her audience to lead and empower their staff  to enhance the dining experience for the clients they serve.

  Missy Schaaphok, RD
Marketing & Communications Chair




Missy leads nutrition strategy and is part of the Food & Beverage Innovation Team at Taco Bell Corporation. She is responsible for regulatory and scientific affairs, and nutrition communications and marketing, working closely with executive, legal, brand marketing, and public relations teams on internal and external outreach. Prior to joining Taco Bell, she taught women and children essential culinary nutrition skills, and published a cookbook called WIC Tested, Dietitian Approved for the WIC Program. 

Sonja Stetzler, MA, RDN, CPC
Education Chair
  Sonja is the president and founder of Effective Connecting, providing executive coaching and communications-centered training for mid-to senior level leaders within organizations. Sonja is a national speaker, and in her 30 year career has held positions in food service management, food industry sales, sales management, and quality assurance. She currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Queens University of Charlotte. Sonja has been a member of DBC for over 20 years.

Chin, MS, RD

  Mary Lee Chin MS, RD, provides health communications and media training, and food and nutrition consulting. She specializes in some of the most contentious food topics, including genetically modified foods, alternative sweeteners and environmental and sustainability issues, translating peer-reviewed research into realistic and practical recommendations. Jennifer E. Seyler, MS, RD, CPT
Sponsorship Chair

Seyler has nearly 15 years’ experience within the nutrition/fitness marketing and communications space. She has provided US and global counsel to 40+ brands, including Abbott Nutrition, Mars brands, Gatorade, and Clorox brands. Seyler currently serves as the immediate past president for the Illinois AND, and as a Board of Director member for the Chicago Food and Nutrition Network. She lives in Elmhurst with her husband and two children - Major (4) and Levi (3).

Sarah Hendren, RD, CD

Sarah RD, CD is the registered dietitian for Culver Franchising System, Inc. and is completing her Master’s Degree through Central Michigan University.  Sarah is responsible for Culver’s nutrition strategy and provides brand direction as part of Culver’s Menu Strategy Team. She works closely with marketing, public relations, legal and quality assurance, providing thought leadership and regulatory counsel.

Nicole Arcilla,
DBC Social Media & Newsletter Editor Co-Chair
  Nicole received her bachelor’s in Nutritional Science at Cornell University and went on to complete her dietetic internship and master’s in Nutrition and Wellness at Benedictine University. Though she practices as a clinical dietitian, Nicole has various experiences from providing PR/media assistance with her state’s dietetic association, to working with dietitians in developing and marketing an original smartphone app, and to public policy with a nutrition advocacy organization in DC.
Tyler Rolling, MS, RD
Social Media & Networking Chair

Tyler graduated from Florida State University with  her B.S. in Nutrition Science. She completed her internship at Patton State Hospital and recently completed her masters degree from San Diego State University in Nutrition Science. Tyler works as a RD for Uplifting Health and Fitness, helping design their nutrition program. She also works in the Health Promotion department at SDSU as a Health Educator.
Tyler performs synchronized swimming.  @BTSnutrition.

Lara Felton, MBA, RDN
Nominating Committee
  Lara is a San Francisco-based Registered Dietitian with a Masters of Business Administration from Santa Clara University. She is Head of Content at ShopWell, a free mobile shopping app for healthy eating and nutrition. Lara leads the nutrition team, bringing her "everything in moderation" philosophy to the ShopWell community. Prior to joining ShopWell, she was part of the adult cystic fibrosis team at Stanford Health Care for over 6 years.  
 Theresa Hedrick, MS, RD, LD
Nominating Chair-Elect
  Theresa is a food and nutrition communications consultant and a private practice dietitian nutritionist. She is passionate about making nutrition fit within the constraints of the real world.
Theresa is the author of three published peer-reviewed scientific studies, and has written nutrition and technical articles for Food Product Design and GreerNow magazines. She has been featured as a nutrition expert in interviews with Senior Voice America, Spry Magazine, and Mom Talk Radio, among others. 
Reilly Brown
Student Member
Reilly is a graduate student at San Diego State University where she is completing her a dual masters in Exercise and Nutrition Science alongside the DPD coursework. Prior to this, she graduated from NC State University in 2014 with a dual bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and Nutrition Science. In conjunction with furthering her education to become a RDN, she is currently working as a nutrition intern at the Taco Bell Headquarters.
